Old White & Paris Grey Dresser...

I love this simple dresser. My husband thought she needed a complete sanding so he took it upon himself to do that. I gladly let him. What a gem!
After that all she needed was some paint.

I went to work with these...

Here's how she turned out...

The shell of the dresser is Old White. For the drawers, I mixed the Old White and a little of the Paris Grey together. Due to the simplicity of the dresser I thought a little contrast of color was nice along with some new hardware from Hobby Lobby.

Simple and Sweet.
Just how I like things.

Nursery Dresser for Ayla

My sister Alana had her baby girl!
She is absolutely beautiful.
So, let me introduce you to my niece Ayla Elizabeth...

Her nursery is so sweet and charming that I have to share a few of the details with you. My mom fixed up and painted a dresser for the room. Wish I had taken a "before" picture because it was a train wreck. My mom did a wonderful job with this antique dresser. Great eye Mom!

Grandma Lane enjoying that baby girl...

Here's the cute Jinny Lind crib and bedding.
I love the quilt and how it hangs above the crib!

And this is just perfect for all the little nursery books don't you think?

The only thing I contributed to the room was this...

Have you seen these on Pinterest?
I saw one of these and thought it was the perfect idea for a nursery.
All you need is a pretty frame, decorative paper and the significant dates. Finish it off with the saying that makes the piece... "what a difference a day makes".

Welcome to the world sweet baby girl.
We are so glad you are here!

American Girl Doll Furniture for Little Miss

Thank the Lord for little girls! My Averi Grace is at such a fun age right now. She turned 6 in June and I had doll furniture in mind for her birthday. At Christmas she got a very special present, an American Girl Doll from her Grandma Lane and G. I thought this would be the perfect time for her dad to make a bed for her beloved doll.

Timing worked out perfectly because my older sister passed along this mini dresser that we got when we were little girls from our Grandma Lupe. It's a little big for doll furniture but not too bad and all that storage is wonderful!

A bed and dresser for the doll were now in order.
I went to work on the dresser with this...

Here's how she turned out...

Brett built the bed and painted it the night before her birthday. It was a late night but it's always worth it when it's something special like this. For the bedding, I just used an extra pillow sham (Simply Shabby Chic at Target).

Here's the happy little set of furniture and the doll...

This doll has become part of the family. Averi considers our house even with 3 boys (dad+2 brothers) and 3 girls (mom+averi+doll). That works great for me because I don't think I can handle any more kids... like ever :)

Here's a photo of little miss on her special day...

She's a keeper that's for sure!
So thankful for her and all the girly girl stuff we get to enjoy together.
