I have two projects to show you today! It's been a struggle to get much of anything done around here but that is the song and dance of a young mother's life. One project is from Mimi's Vintage Charm and the other one is by my husband at River Valley Woodcraft.
Here's the before picture of the empire dresser...
This is such a great piece! I got this dresser from a friend. She needed a few little repairs so my husband took care of those for me. Then she sat in storage for a VERY LONG TIME. I was nervous to work on her. As you know, the pieces I normally work on tend to be on their last leg... meaning nowhere else to go except up. I didn't want to mess this one up and I went back and forth so many times on how to paint her. Finally, after seeing a custom bathroom vanity that my husband built and painted for someone I knew I had found the perfect color for this dresser. So, here she is...
The color is Thundercloud Gray by Benjamin Moore and it is beautiful!
So, now let me show you the bathroom vanity that inspired me...
My husband built and painted the vanity and the homeowner made the sink, countertop and backsplash herself from soapstone. Pretty amazing!
I also painted a vintage Ethan Allen twin bed frame this color as well. You can see it here.
Thanks for stopping by!

The piece is so pretty. I'm in Italy and painted a villa interior in that color "cord" it took us about 15 color samples to get to that shade of grey. It is a color that looks good with modern and antique stuff.
ReplyDeleteCheers
